I spent an unfortunate short few hours in Santorini on a stop during a three day cruise from Kusadasi, Turkey to Athens, Greece. From the second we pulled up to port at this perfect little gem of an island, I was hooked. I took a slightly nerve-wracking bus ride up the side of the island to the precious little village of Oia where I spent all of my time exploring and taking in the amazing views.
The second I left the island I was itching to go back and am currently day dreaming about my future return when I can see these views again. I don’t think there’s an adequate enough way to describe this Mediterranean paradise nor do I think I can give an in depth guide based on a couple hours, so pictures will have to do. They definitely don’t do Santorini justice …
I remember once a few years ago when I was on a Pinterest frenzy during a boring nursing school class, I came across a picture of one these half timbered beauties. I assumed I would never be lucky enough to travel to such a place but fast forward a few years and a few altered priorities and I found myself in a fairytale during a weekend in Alsace.
After recently getting married, I kicked off a two-week honeymoon adventure with a one week road trip through Croatia. The hubby and I had the hardest time deciding on the perfect honeymoon destination but finally settled on Croatia after basically drawing out of a hat (actually a bowl), and we’re so glad we did!
Istanbul was the first stop on my three week long adventure across Turkey, Greece, and Italy. Turkey had never been on my travel radar and I had about a hundred other places on my travel bucket list that I wanted to visit first. The second the trip was booked, I fell into a Turkey researching frenzy and never once regretted the decision to go there.
Rome is such a beautiful city, full of romance and history. There’s no shortage of sites to see in this wonderful place and it’s no secret as to what those sites are. This is my list of things you MUST do in Rome to fully appreciate its greatness. Are they original ideas? Probably not, but they’re important. So do them!
